In Class Assignment:

  1. Go to this link: Career City, Secondary Career Education, Glencoe, 2002 to learn how to write a cover letter.
  2. Make a list of the things you must do when writing your letter in your letter using Microsoft Word. Don't use cut and paste. Put it in your own words.
  3. Put your name at the top of the list (so I know who it belongs to).
  4. Take a look at their sample cover letter
  5. Now look at this link: JobStar--About Cover Letters.
  6. Add information from the JobStar webpage to your list. Don't use cut and paste. Put it in your own words.
  7. Look at the Sample Cover Letters from JobStar. Be sure to look at the Cover Letter Template.
  8. Add any other information to your list.
  9. Print 2 copies of your list. Keep one and hand the other one in to me
  10. Bring up Microsoft Word
  11. Use the template (yes, you can use it here) to make a FAX cover sheet for your cover letter. Fill out the form in response to the following:
  12. Print 2 copies of your FAX cover sheet. Keep one and hand the other one to me.
